It has simply been studied less.

Dermatology is taught on white skin. On deeper complexions inflammation reads violet or grey, leaves pigment behind, and raises into keloid. None of that is rare. It is under-taught.

MELA SKIN was built around it. Dr. Margaret Gachanja’s practice is organised around the conditions that behave most stubbornly in melanin-rich skin, with the medical and cosmetic sides under one roof.

One half has to be diagnosed before anyone can say what treating it involves. The other you can browse, then talk through. Start with whichever sounds like yours.

One list is what people arrive worried about. The other is what they arrive wanting. Nothing has been added to either to make the clinic look bigger.

  1. 01

    Appointment

By email or through the form. You are asked what brought you in and how long it has gone on, so your history is read before you sit down.

  2. 02

    Consultation

45 minutes. Examination under proper lighting, a diagnosis in plain language, and photographs kept as a baseline.

  3. 03

    Your plan

In writing, priced up front: what it costs, how long it takes, and what happens if it does not work.

  4. 04

    Follow-up

A review at [6] weeks, with a reminder before it. Pigmentation work usually fails from being abandoned early, not from being the wrong plan.
